On the evening of May 21, 2025, there was a brutal attack in Vienna-Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus in which a 39-year-old man was critically injured. The incident happened around 8:15 p.m. in front of a Somali club on Schweglerstrasse. The attacker, a 41-year-old Somali national, stabbed the victim with a box cutter, causing deep cuts to the head, neck and upper body area. The victim managed to free himself from the attacker and escape to the clubhouse to seek help.
The police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and were able to arrest the suspect. The Vienna professional rescue service provided emergency medical care to the victim, who was then taken to the shock room of a hospital. Fortunately, the all-clear was given on Wednesday morning: the victim's life was no longer in danger.
