Visible and safe: Police check vehicle lights in Eckenheim!
An alarming flash from Frankfurt: In the darkness of last week, law enforcement officers carried out a spectacular inspection of the vehicle lights! On October 23, 2024, in the evening hours from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the Frankfurt am Main police put drivers through their paces on Jean-Monnet-Straße, just before the A661 Eckenheim junction. The focus? Road safety during the “light test weeks”!
The officers paid particular attention to defective lighting systems. In a preventive act, they informed the drivers of their shortcomings and, in most cases, issued verbal warnings - but be careful! In order to avoid the threat of a fine, drivers must provide proof that their lighting systems are now working again within the next few days. And control had even more up its sleeve!
Crimes uncovered!
Police discovered a driver without valid insurance and another suspect who did not appear to have a driver's license. In both cases, strict criminal charges were filed. According to the initial feedback, the police officers were successful: many road users praised the preventative approach and the understandable explanations about the lack of lights. The “Light Test 2024” campaign runs until October 31st and the police are staying tuned! With darkness setting in early, safe driving is now more important than ever!
