Nicki Minaj's Trump praise sparks wild protests and deportation petition!

Nicki Minaj recently turned heads at Turning Point USA's America Fest in Phoenix. The appearance of the rapper, who appeared as a surprise guest, was not only an artistic performance, but also a political statement. Minaj expressed her admiration for Donald Trump and praised his former administration to applause from the more than 30,000 people in attendance. This led to a flood of responses, including a petition calling for Minaj to be deported to Trinidad. This petition has already garnered over 50,000 signatures and accuses the musician of being “out of control” and showing signs of “psychosis.” The initiators argue that Minaj's behavior is gaining public relevance because it has caused stressful situations for the Carter family of musicians.

Another point of contention in the petition is Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a convicted sex offender. Critics, particularly from the LGBT+ community, are bothered by her change from previous positions in which she advocated for queer rights. Nicki Minaj has not yet commented publicly on the allegations.

Political change and support for Trump

Interestingly, Minaj's political stance has changed significantly in recent years. In the past, she sharply criticized Trump, particularly over his immigration policies. But the turning point in their political agenda came after a controversial anti-vaccination tweet in 2021, followed by the adoption of right-wing narratives such as the portrayal of Christian persecution in Nigeria. At America Fest, she described the political right wing as “joyful and peaceful” and characterized those on the left as angry and dissatisfied with themselves.

Minaj also expressed her support for the persecuted Christians in Nigeria and underscored the importance of her message for young people. She stressed that it is okay to change one's mind and urged youth to worship God freely. In this context, she praised Trump and Vance as “relatable figures” and admitted to a brief confusion when she accidentally referred to Vance as “assassins.”

Criticism and previous views

Although Minaj is now a Trump supporter, many of her past positions remain in memory. In particular, her statement on the outrageous vaccination story, which she published on social network X, caused a stir and was viewed as misinformation. Her economic views have also changed: in the past, for example, she criticized Californian heads of state and expressed negative comments about their support for trans children.

Minaj's policy change and her new allies not only surprised her fans, but also attracted numerous critics. Her story shows how social and political narratives can change within a short period of time. While Minaj has moved to the right from her past, it remains to be seen how her career and public reaction will continue to evolve.
