Lindsey Vonn celebrates spectacular comeback in the World Cup!

After almost six years of absence, legendary US skier Lindsey Vonn announces her spectacular comeback in the World Cup! The 40-year-old, who has already won an incredible 82 World Cup victories and won Olympic gold in 2010 in her career, will compete in the Super-G races in St. Moritz on December 21st and 22nd, the US ski team has confirmed. "I have news," Vonn explained in a highly anticipated video, adding, "I've heard that St. Moritz is very beautiful this time of year. There's nothing I love more than skiing," Tagesspiegel reported.

Before returning to St. Moritz, Vonn will compete as a precursor at the World Cup in Beaver Creek, Colorado this weekend. Here she has already completed training rides in downhill and super-G. “It feels so normal to be back in the starting house,” said the Olympic champion, who is known for racing with an artificial knee joint. This remarkable return of the injury-stricken athlete is being celebrated as big news, not least by her sponsor Red Bull, who announced on Instagram: "This is big news. She's back. St. Moritz, here she comes!", as the Kleine Zeitung reported.

Vonn’s return after so long is the culmination of her fight back on the slopes. Despite her outstanding performances at Copper Mountain, where she placed 24th and 19th in the Super-G races and placed 24th and 27th in the downhills, the upcoming competition in St. Moritz is a very special moment. Fans can already look forward to a thrilling comeback that will keep the entire ski scene in suspense.
