Daniel Tschofenig: Carinthian hopefuls in the overall World Cup!

Daniel Tschofenig from Hohenthurn has attracted attention with his new strength in ski jumping and is currently leading the overall World Cup. This could make him the first Carinthian overall World Cup winner since 2011. Thomas Morgenstern, the last Carinthian to win this title, keeps his fingers crossed for Tschofenig and believes in his success in the spectacular duel against Jan Hörl, whom he was able to trump in a decisive points victory. At the qualification for ski flying in Planica, Tschofenig reached 10th place, while Hörl had to settle for 15th place, which gave his competitiveness a further boost.https://www.krone.at/3740136

In a historic moment for U.S. skiing, the Ski Jumping World Cup in Lake Placid was the first in 14 years. Andreas Wellinger secured the victory and thus achieved his first win of the season and his fourth World Cup victory overall. Daniel Tschofenig managed to place third, just 0.6 points behind second-place Ryoyu Kobayashi. This result marked Tschofenig's first podium in the World Cup and brought him a lot of joy for the upcoming competitions. A planned super team competition on Saturday at 11 p.m. CET, in which Tschofenig will compete together with Stefan Kraft, provides additional anticipation.https://www.sn.at/sport/wintersport/skisprung-tschofenig-in-erstem-bewerb-von-lake-pacid-dritter-133908268
