Inclusive volunteering: New program strengthens Bremen volunteers!

The Martinsclub in Bremen sends a strong signal for inclusion! An innovative qualification course will start from January 29, 2025, which will prepare people with and without disabilities for voluntary work. Every Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the participants meet in the rooms of the Bremen Adult Education Center to explore their strengths and interests and prepare for various volunteer positions. Hedwig Thelen, participation coordinator at the Martinsclub, emphasizes that this initiative is intended to help people with disabilities overcome obstacles and actively participate in social life. This project is supported by Aktion Mensch and Sparkasse Bremen, which financially support the training program Weser courier reported.

Flexible and helpful!

The Martinsclub is always looking for dedicated helpers for various events, be it summer festivals, the all-inclusive festival or other celebrations. The tasks are varied: from serving drinks to setting up and dismantling, everyone can take part depending on their availability and interest, as on the Martinsclub website is explained. You can get involved flexibly in events at the neighborhood centers in Bremen, including Findorff, Vahr and Gröpelingen. Sometimes you can even help out just once a year or be active on a regular basis.

These offers not only provide valuable experience, but also promote skills and talents that are often underestimated in society. A platform is provided to ensure greater visibility and acceptance of people with disabilities!
