First aid course for parents: ensure safety for babies and small children!
An important first aid course for parents is on the program in Lübeck-Moisling, which will take place on December 19, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the “Familien-Kiste” family center. This course is aimed specifically at mothers and fathers with migration experience and offers vital information on everyday injuries, head injuries and burns. The event will be led by Jennifer Holst, an experienced family health and pediatric nurse from the Early Help Advisory Center. Participation is free and aims to give parents the knowledge they need to act quickly and safely in critical situations hl-live.de reported.
Commitment to migration experiences
In addition to offering a first aid course for migrant parents, the family center is also planning a similar event for parents without a migrant background on January 23, 2025. These courses are part of a larger initiative to support families with different cultural backgrounds. Institutions such as the Regional Work Centers for the Support of Children and Young People from Immigrant Families (RAA) in North Rhine-Westphalia are committed to actively involving parents in educational work. Intercultural parenting plays a central role in this by promoting dialogue between different cultural groups and enabling parents to contribute their parenting views and experiences, as in the article by kindergartenpedagogik.de is explained.
The RAA develops concepts and strategies aimed at strengthening the skills of educators to meet the needs of all children. An example of such a commitment is the “Rucksack” program, which integrates language support and strengthening parenting skills. Such measures are crucial to counteract the alienation of children from immigrant families and promote their integration into society. The events in Lübeck are therefore not only help in emergency situations, but also a step in the right direction for the entire community.
