Valentine's Day: 83 % of men surprise their partner with gifts!

According to a survey by SME research Austria, as well as the Krone reports, planned 62 percent of the respondents to make their loved ones happy. The men in particular stand out: 78 percent of them want to give their partners something, while 70 percent of women are doing the same for their partners. The survey also shows that flowers are the most popular gifts with 48 percent, followed by chocolates and chocolate (36 percent). Vouchers for shared experiences complete the top 3 of the gifts. Rainer Treelik, the trading chairman, describes Valentine's Day as an important impulse for domestic trade, which currently urgently needs support. The total edition for Valentine's Day is estimated at 220 million euros, which underlines the importance of this day for the trading sector. 84 percent of buyers plan to buy their gifts in stationary trade, while 23 percent use the Internet.
The preference for flowers, especially roses, is no coincidence: they are a symbol of love and enjoy great popularity. According to Treffelik, Valentine's Day could also not only address couples, because twelve percent of those surveyed give away something to their mothers, and overall the surveys show an upward trend in gifting, which illustrates the emotional value of gifts in the current, crises.
