A forest fire in the Neunkirchen district that broke out on Saturday morning put emergency services on alert. Loud noe.ORF.at The fire probably started from a burning vehicle. Due to the rapid spread in a forest area, the affected area was limited to around eight hectares. More than 1,000 firefighters, supported by 200 vehicles and six firefighting helicopters, were deployed to bring the flames under control.

On Tuesday, the emergency services, led by district fire brigade commander Josef Huber, were able to draw a positive interim conclusion.
