Serious accident in Upper Austria: family gets into a head-on collision!
On the evening of December 1st, 2024, a serious traffic accident occurred on the B3 in Luftenberg, Upper Austria. A 28-year-old from Linz was traveling with his family when there was a serious head-on collision with a 27-year-old man from the Wels-Land district. The man from Linz was in the car with his 53-year-old mother, his 27-year-old wife and their two small children, aged two and five, when, after an overtaking maneuver, the 27-year-old drove into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with them, as the ORF reported.
The force of the impact was enormous: the 27-year-old's vehicle rolled over after the collision and landed around five meters below the road in the riparian forest. The fire department had to come to rescue the driver from his badly damaged car. All occupants were taken to Linz hospitals with various injuries. While the driver of the other vehicle and the mother of the 28-year-old driver suffered serious injuries, his wife and two children remained, according to the 5min, largely uninjured, but also suffering from health problems. No alcohol tests could be carried out on the drivers at the scene of the accident, which further complicates the investigation.
