MEINHARD. A dramatic traffic accident rocked the B 249 near Meinhard-Grebendorf on Monday morning! At around 10:35 a.m., a 54-year-old driver from Meinhard wanted to turn from a gas station onto the federal highway. But in a fateful moment he overlooked the right-of-way car belonging to a 36-year-old from Helbedündorf. The impact was devastating!
The 54-year-old was trapped in his vehicle during the collision and suffered life-threatening injuries. The fire department had to intervene quickly to free him. A rescue helicopter immediately took him to a clinic, where he is now fighting for his life. The 36-year-old, however, escaped with minor injuries and was transported to the Werra-Meißner Clinic. A blessing in disguise!
Serious consequences and high damage
The B 249 remained closed until 12:15 p.m. while emergency services worked on site. Both vehicles had to be towed and the damage is estimated at around 16,000 euros. A terrible example of how quickly an accident can occur on the roads!
