Essen shaken by a scary incident!
On Monday evening, November 4th, the fire department in Essen was called to a scandalous operation. At around 10:30 p.m., the brave helpers broke into an apartment on Steeler Street after fire alarms sounded the alarm. But what they found in the apartment was much more than just a technical false alarm!
Inside the apartment there was chaos: food had burned on the stove and the acrid smoke was spreading quickly. The fire brigade was quickly on the scene and prevented anything worse from happening. But suddenly, as if out of nowhere, the 40-year-old resident, an Essen resident with Nigerian nationality, attacked the brave emergency services! A brutal attack that shocked everyone: the man, apparently heavily intoxicated, lashed out and even kicked a firefighter. The rescue workers were not prepared for so much aggression!
Drama and arrest!
In this critical situation, the firefighters alerted the police for help. Together, the officers managed to overpower and arrest the crazy attacker. The 40-year-old had to spend the night in police custody and is now facing criminal prosecution for assaulting the rescuers. An incident that sent not only the fire brigade but the entire city of Essen into turmoil!
