A happy end to a dramatic search: The 83-year-old resident of a nursing home in Lower Austria, who had been missing since Friday evening, was found safely in a forest on Saturday afternoon. According to information from the Red Cross Lower Austria The pensioner was discovered by the trained search dog “Faunus”, who was on duty together with his handler Michael Jaronik and helper Vanessa Pal. This intensive search operation began on Friday afternoon and mobilized numerous rescue workers.

A total of 48 Red Cross employees, including 20 dog handlers, as well as the fire department and police were involved in the impressive rescue operation. Drones were also used to effectively search the area. At this point, the elderly lady was already found hypothermic, but fortunately in good health.
