The Schwechat Volunteer Fire Department set a new deployment record in 2024 and was deployed a total of 580 times, as Commander Chief Fire Inspector Maximilian Puhane reported at the general meeting on January 24, 2025. This includes 136 fire operations, including spectacular incidents such as the Hammerbrotwerk fire and a house fire in Netzgasse. The year 2024 meant not only challenges for the fire department, but also significant successes. The meeting also included a memorial service to three deceased comrades. Thanks to the committed members, including 90 active firefighters, 6 reservists and 7 young people in the fire department youth, this impressive performance record was achieved.
