Stadtallendorf.In a moving act of solidarity, the Muslim community of the Fatih Mosque presented a generous donation check for 3,000 euros to city fire inspector Patrick Schulz and mayor Christian Somogyi during Friday prayers. This remarkable donation presentation took place immediately after the devastating fire at the fire station on October 16th, which shocked the entire community.

The funds collected will be used to support the children's and youth fire brigade and the fire brigade association, who urgently need help after the fire. Mayor Somogyi praised the initiative and emphasized that it was a sign of the unshakable solidarity of the citizens in Stadtallendorf. “This all shows once again how much you all are citizens of this city,” he said to the assembled community members.

Cleanup and destruction

While the cleanup work at the fire station is in full swing, numerous damaged items must be disposed of. The fire restoration company has already thrown away many helmets and items of clothing from the youth military that were rendered unusable by the fire smoke and extinguishing water. City fire inspector Schulz reported extreme temperatures of over 1,000 degrees in the vehicle hall, which were caused by the explosion of oxygen cylinders.

The city has also set up a donation account to collect further support. The account will be closed after a large benefit concert on November 14th in the town hall, at which various wind orchestras will perform. The entire campaign shows the community's tireless commitment to rebuilding the fire department and its valuable youth work.
