Fire brigade in continuous use: flames and smoke from fireplaces!
In the past few days, two burning fireplaces have caused excitement in Austria and Germany, in which the fire brigade had to intervene quickly. A fireplace fire was reported in Horbranz when attentive neighboring children discovered a flame of the leg, which was struck out of the fireplace of an oven that was fueled with wood. These children immediately alerted the house residents, who then called the fire brigade. When the Hörbranz fire brigade arrived, however, there was no longer any flame of the flame, only dense smoke came out of the fireplace. The emergency services checked the fireplace and informed a chimney sweeper. Fortunately, there were no injuries nor property damage, such as Vol.at reported.
The fire brigade in Eilenburg moved out to another fireplace fire on Thursday afternoon in parallel to this incident. Here, a resident had apparently triggered a fire when inflaming an ethanol fireplace that led to a flame. This burning liquid dripped onto a sofa below. An emergency services had to be called to treat an injured person. The fire brigade transported the fireplace outdoors and carried out a review of the affected area with a thermal imaging camera.
