On Thursday evening, February 6, 2025, there was a dramatic fire in a residential building in Kirchdorf in Tirol (Kitzbühel district). At 8:55 p.m. the fire broke out in the apartment of a 37-year-old Austrian woman after she lit a candle and then fell asleep. When she woke up, her apartment was already full of smoke and she was unable to put out the flames. The frightening scenes that unfolded ended with the woman being rescued by her 69-year-old father, who lives downstairs and noticed that fire had broken out upstairs. He was able to bring his daughter to safety uninjured and immediately alerted the fire department 5min.at reports.
When the Kirchdorf volunteer fire department arrived, the upper floor was already on fire. The fire department was able to quickly extinguish the fire, but the resident suffered injuries of an undetermined degree as well as smoke inhalation and was taken to BKH St. Johann after receiving first aid.
