The Eurovision Song Contest
The Eurovision Song Contest is an annual international music competition that is organized by the European Broadcasting Union. Each participating country submits an original song that is listed live. The competition has its roots in the Italian Sanremo Music Festival and has been carried out since 1956, except for Covid-19. The ESC is the most durable international music event on television and attracts hundreds of millions of viewers from all over the world every year.
as a countertenor connects JJ pop and high culture and thus brings a breath of fresh air to the competitive scene. His background is just as diverse: he is the son of an Austrian and a Filipinine and grew up in Dubai. This cultural mix may be reflected in his music and could be part of his recipe for success.
The Vice Chancellor thanked not only JJ, but also the ORF and his program director Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz for the support that JJ made possible to take part in this important competition. BABLER is optimistic that despite the existing budget passports, the anniversary will be an unforgettable event next year and is already talking to the ORF.
