Important deadline for motorcycle dealers: Only allow until December 31, 2024!

A dramatic turnaround for motorcycle dealers in Germany! Initial registrations for certain motorcycles in classes L - which includes light motorcycles as well as motorcycles and tricycles - are only possible until December 31, 2024 if they meet the strict emissions class Euro 5+ or better. This regulation is a crucial step in the EU-wide effort to drastically reduce emissions and hits both retailers and manufacturers right at the core. Action is now the order of the day!
The clock is ticking! Dealers with bikes that still comply with the previous Euro 5 standard have to hurry up. Especially since expert Andrea Hansen from Kroschke has already predicted that demand from registration offices will skyrocket at the end of the year. A quick and smooth approval process is now essential to avoid unpleasant surprises.
Emergency plan for dealers!
But what if the planned approval does not take place before the deadline? No panic! Dealers can apply for an exemption from the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). However, the procedures are complicated and require the IVI-COC data sets of the models in question, which are often not yet completely available. Kroschke is available as a strong partner to take over the entire application process and manage communication with the manufacturers.
“We offer retailers the necessary support during this transition phase,” explains Hansen. “Whether it’s about timely approval or applying for exemptions from the KBA – we are there for you!” Time is ticking, so every dealer should take advantage of this opportunity so as not to lose out in the motorcycle industry!
