Salesperson remains the top training occupation in the Pirna district!
Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains. An exciting picture emerges on the training market in the district: sellers are the absolute favorites! With 121 applications between October 2023 and September 2024, this profession clearly stands out and accounts for almost eleven percent of all applications. A total of 1,324 young people were looking for a chance at a training position - a decrease of 44 compared to the previous year. But demand remains unbroken: 1,066 training positions were reported, which means a slight increase of 23 compared to 2023.
However, the reality is sobering: theoretically there are only 0.8 positions for every applicant. In October, 106 young people were still without a training place, while 193 vacancies were waiting for them. The employment agency in Pirna warns: “We must not lose any young people in the transition from school to work!” Ronny Beck, the managing director, encourages undecided people who can start training before the end of the year to get support from career advisors in order to find alternatives to their dream job.
The top apprenticeships
The ranking of the most sought-after training occupations remains stable. At the top is the salesperson, followed by automotive mechatronics technicians and retail salespeople. New in the top ten is the profession of medical assistant, which has established itself among young people's training wishes. The numerous vacancies in the areas of retail, technology and catering show that the opportunities for those looking for training places are good.
But not all positions are filled. There are currently 193 training places available, particularly in technical professions and crafts. The agency is doing everything it can to actively support the 100 young people who have not yet found a place. Initiatives such as in-company entry-level qualifications are intended to help close the gap and bring young talent into the right careers.
