Tennis legend Till Reschke died at the age of 91-a life for sport!
Göttingen. A big loss for the tennis world: Till Reschke died on October 30 at the age of 91. The passionate tennis player and committed official has dedicated his life to sport and leaves an impressive legacy. Born in Berlin and grew up in Greifswald, he found his way to the Sauerland after escaping in World War II, where he had initially fallen into athletics.
But the chemical courses and the intensive training of athletics were no longer compatible. After his wedding in 1959, he looked for a sport together with his wife and discovered the tennis facilities on the Schillerwiese. A new era for Reschke began here, which was supposed to accompany him until his last day.

since 1968 Reschke has been a proud member of the Göttingen tennis and ski club (TSC) and played in various age group teams until January 2017. Between 1987 and 1993 he experienced his sporting heights in the regional and north league of the seniors. But his commitment went far beyond the field. From 1973 he took over numerous offices in the club, became a youth leader and was largely involved in the foundation of the NTV district of Göttingen in 1975. In 1990 he took over the chair and modernized the betting game regulations of the Lower Saxony tennis association, which still has existed.
His merits were recognized in 1993 with the election as spokesman for the NTV game committee, an office that he held until 2015. Reschke was also chairman of the merger of the south circles and remained active as deputy chairman until 2020. Until his retreat, he enjoyed the tennis operation from the club terrace and leaves a gap that will be difficult to fill.
