Sparta Göttingen wins lackluster: promoted team Eisdorf remains weak!
An exciting evening in Göttingen! Sparta Göttingen, last year's runner-up, played in the home game against newly promoted FC Eisdorf and secured the next important points with a 3-1 win. Despite a rather uninspired performance that was only just above the weak limit, it was enough for the host to score three points. In cold weather and under floodlights, around 40 spectators saw how Sparta climbed to third place with this victory - directly behind their upcoming opponents, TSV Landolfshausen/Seulingen.
The start was promising: Captain Gianni Weiss made the first statement with a shot against the post. In the 22nd minute it was Erdem Kazan who took the lead after a follow-up shot. Grzegorz Podolczak, the goalscorer, made it 2-0 in the 39th minute after he played around the Eisdorf keeper. The guests from Eisdorf hardly had any chances in the first half, so the lead at the break was more than deserved. But after the break the game became noticeably weaker and Eisdorf became more courageous. In the final quarter of an hour, Sparta goalkeeper Moumen Kam Naksh had to intervene several times, but remained confident.
Tension until the last minute
For the upcoming top game against TSV Landolfshausen/Seulingen, which kicks off on Sunday at 5:15 p.m., the two teams have agreed to swap home rights. FC Eisdorf welcomes SG Bergdörfer on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. So the tension remains high in the district league!
