Pour.A shocking incident shook the city of Giessen when a 27-year-old homeless man from Marburg threatened a 13-year-old student with a knife! The dangerous incident occurred on Thursday, November 14th, around 8 p.m. at Giessen train station. The federal police were alerted after a brave witness observed the situation.
The federal police reacted quickly and temporarily arrested the suspect in the area of the bus station. While searching the man, officers discovered a wallet containing various cash cards and an ID card that had been reported stolen. The knife he had with him turned out to be part of a normal cutlery set - but the threat was real!
Legal consequences for the perpetrator
The federal police's investigations revealed that there was an arrest warrant for the execution of a sentence against the homeless German. He now has to serve a remaining sentence of ten days for violating the Compulsory Insurance Act. The Kassel Federal Police Inspectorate initiated criminal proceedings for threats against the man, who was then taken to the Giessen Correctional Facility.
