Nordic Film Days: Lübeck celebrates with 11 prizes and 65,000 euros!
On Saturday evening, Lübeck experienced a brilliant spectacle at the Nordic Film Days film awards night! Eleven prizes worth a total of 65,000 euros were awarded, and the coveted NDR Film Prize, worth 12,500 euros, went to the impressive work “My Eternal Summer” by the Danish director Sylvia le Fanu. But that wasn't all - she also secured the Baltic Film Prize worth 5,000 euros! To date, the Nordic Film Days are presenting around 170 films from Scandinavia, the Baltics, Finland, Iceland and Schleswig-Holstein. A real feast for film fans!
A big day of action will take place in Neumünster today from 12 noon, during which around 200 emergency services from the police, fire brigade, THW and rescue services will present their work. The organizations urgently want to attract young talent with information stands and hands-on activities. Because the volunteer fire departments in Schleswig-Holstein are facing a big problem: there is a lack of young people! Many active duty forces will soon be retiring and the alarm bells are already ringing!
Drama on the football field and in the streets
The football fans had to accept a bitter disappointment on Saturday: Holstein Kiel lost the northern duel against Werder Bremen 2-1 in the Weserstadion. Despite numerous chances for Kiel, they were unable to achieve victory. A header from Oliver Burke in the final minute sealed the fate of Kiel, who remained stuck in the bottom of the table. Meanwhile there was a fire in Brunsbüttel! Within just 20 minutes, several garbage cans and containers were on fire. The fire also damaged the Schleusen Hotel and the facades of surrounding shops. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but a suspected arsonist was arrested. The police suspect that the fires are connected!
There was also a devastating fire in Wilster that destroyed a workshop on Neue Burger Straße. The flames spread from a car to the building and the roof collapsed! Over 50 firefighters battled the flames into the night while the cause of the fire remains unclear. A dramatic day for Schleswig-Holstein that kept people in suspense!
