A dramatic football game had a happy ending for Lok Leipzig's Noel Eichinger! In a thrilling duel against Greifswalder FC, things initially looked bleak when Eichinger missed a penalty. The hosts took the lead and threatened to inflict their first defeat of the season on FCL. But Eichinger showed strong nerves and equalized 1-1 with a sensational long-range shot shortly before the final whistle. This means that Lok Leipzig remains unbeaten even after 14 league games!
The hit of the week
Eichinger's goal was celebrated by the fans: 55 percent of the votes went to him! This is his second victory in the “Direct Hit of the Week” in just three weeks. He had previously impressed with a spectacular free kick against BFC Dynamo. In the last vote, Samuel Loric from 1. FC Magdeburg and Lucas Albert from FSV Zwickau had to lag behind Eichinger with 31 and 14 percent of the votes.
