In an exciting duel in the Basketball Bundesliga, the Niners Chemnitz met the Frankfurt Skyliners. Chemnitz dominated the game from the start and secured important points in the fight for the playoff places with a clear 85:66 victory.
How MDR reported, the game started evenly. After three minutes it was 2-2 before the Niners went on a 12-0 run and took a 22-13 lead at the quarter break. Chemnitz showed an impressive three-point percentage of 60 percent and further extended its lead in the second quarter, so that by the 17th minute it was already 38:20. The Skyliners also struggled at the free throw line and trailed 27:48 at halftime.
Dominance of the Niners Chemnitz
After the break, Chemnitz relied on a wider rotation while their lead remained constant. After the third quarter they led 69:43. The Skyliners tried to come back with an 8-0 run in the final period, but were unable to significantly threaten Chemnitz's superiority. Aher Uguak scored an important point from the free throw line, and several Chemnitz players were able to reach double-digit points: Aher Uguak (15), William Christmas (14) as well as DeAndre Lansdowne, Eddy Edigin Jr. and Jeff Garrett (10 each).
Overall, it was the third defeat in a row for the Skyliners, who remain second to last in the table, while Chemnitz celebrated their eighth win of the season and are moving closer to the direct playoff places Hessenschau reports.
