Police search with helicopter: missing man in Hechthausen!

On January 10, 2025, the Cuxhaven police station confirmed the search for a missing man in the Hechthausen area. The search, which began in the morning, is being supported by a police helicopter equipped with a thermal imaging camera.

The helicopter crew flies over various forests and meadows to find the missing man. It is a 56-year-old resident of Börde Lamstedt. A decision about possible additional search forces will be made at a later date, the police said.

Previous missing person and clues

There is also an older case from Cuxhaven that was reported on November 25, 2024. 63-year-old Torsten Kielies has been missing since the evening of November 24, 2024, after he was last seen in his apartment in Cuxhaven. The police do not rule out possible reasons such as an accident or a helpless situation.

Mr Kielies is described as 193cm tall with short, brown-grey hair. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing black sweatpants, black Adidas shoes, a gray and blue sweater and an olive green jacket.
