Steam locomotives and fun: children's festival in the Neustadt Railway Museum!

The Railway Museum in Neustadt will once again be a hotspot for families and children on Thursday, October 3rd. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Museum of the German Society for Railway History is hosting an exciting children's festival that offers numerous attractions that are particularly appealing to younger visitors. Here children can immerse themselves in a fascinating world of railways.

A highlight of the event is the cab ride on a locomotive. This gives visitors a unique opportunity to experience a real slice of railway experience. The VW draisine, a special type of railway vehicle from 1955, is also part of the program. The fun of riding this trolley, which was taken out of service by Deutsche Bahn in the 1970s, is exciting for children and adults alike.

Diverse program for young and old

The children's festival has much more to offer than just locomotive rides. Steam locomotives, diesel and electric locomotives as well as railcars can be admired in the museum's large exhibition hall. Particular attention is paid to the impressive Gauge 1 model railway layout and the LGB garden railway, which will certainly arouse the interest of many model railway fans.

Entertainment and variety are also provided: a wheel of fortune, a play area, face painting and quiz games ensure that you never get bored. The toy museum from Freinsheim will also be represented with nostalgic tin toys with real steam, which will not only let the children but also the adults reminisce.

There is no shortage of food: a barbecue and drinks stand as well as the café in the ET 11 electric multiple unit offer tasty snacks and refreshments. This means visitors can enjoy the day to the full and fortify themselves with a treat.

Admission to the children's festival is 5 euros, and access is free for children up to 14 years old. The entrance to the festival is at Schillerstraße 3 or directly from platform 5 of Neustadt main station. The official website of the museum offers further information about the offers and how to get there.

The Children's Festival at the Railway Museum is a great opportunity to spend an entertaining day with the whole family, filled with exciting experiences and lots of new impressions in the world of railways.
