A highlight is the medieval Christmas market at the impressive Lichtenberg Castle in Thallichtenberg. On November 30th and December 1st, Germany's longest castle ruins will be transformed into a festive hustle and bustle. Entry is free! The gates open from 12 p.m. and the event begins at 2 p.m. with a ceremonial opening by the herald and the firecrackers. In the upper castle, visitors can enjoy musical groups and stalls, while the lower castle beckons with medieval crafts and culinary delights.
Medieval Christmas market at Landeck Castle
Landeck Castle, located high above Klingenmünster, invites you to another festive experience from December 13th to 15th. Here guests can expect a castle courtyard decorated for Christmas, which delights with Christmas trees and a colorful craft market. There is an exciting range of toys and literature for the little knights. You can arrive either on foot or conveniently with a shuttle service from the Johanna source.
Historical Advent market in Cochem
Another gem is the historical Advent market in Cochem, which takes place from November 29th to December 1st on Endertplatz. Here visitors can experience old traditions while jugglers and Renaissance dances enchant the atmosphere. A spectacular highlight are the evening fire shows, which amaze young and old alike. A Christmas market will also be held at the Reichsburg on December 14th and 15th, which perfectly rounds off the festive atmosphere.
