From December 3, 2024, the Schiersteiner Kreuz will become a massive traffic disruptions! Drivers have to adapt to significant restrictions, because between 9 a.m. and Friday, December 6th, Autobahn GmbH is carrying out urgently needed repairs to the A66. The heavily used concrete slabs of the road must be stabilized in order to ensure traffic safety in the long term. A nightmare for commuters and travelers!

The Mainz-Rüdesheim exit is already closed on the first day of the work, and the two left lane towards Wiesbaden-Stadt are affected. On December 4, the Frankfurt-Mainz exit follows. Road users have to expect massive disabilities and adjust to a changed traffic routing. Deplays are signposted on site, but the patience of the drivers is put to the test!

The Autobahn GmbH appeals to all road users to have special caution in the construction site area. There are also traffic jams and delays on the detour routes. Current traffic reports are essential to make the journey as smoothly as possible. Especially during peak times, drivers should plan longer travel times.

a step to security!

The repair work is not only annoying, but also necessary! The highly frequented area has been extremely stressed in recent years, which led to the damage to the road. Stabilizing the concrete slabs will help prevent further signs of wear and to secure the flow of traffic. These measures are part of a long -term plan to renew and optimize the infrastructure in the Wiesbaden and Mainz area. Autobahn GmbH has also planned extensive work on the A66 for the coming years to make the region sustainable!
