Sewer cleaning in the Upper Glantal: Contract extended by one year!
In the municipality of Oberes Glantal, the 292 kilometers of sewer network continues to be cleaned by the Müller company from Landau. The contract was extended by one year until March 2026, as the Rheinpfalz reported. This cleaning work includes the maintenance of around 70 kilometers of sewerage as well as the inspection of around 45 kilometers of the main sewer system in Schönenberg-Kübelberg. Mayor Christoph Lothschütz explained that additional selective measures may be necessary. The estimated cost of the cleaning is 55,000 euros, while the network examination is estimated at 129,000 euros.
New fee structure in the wastewater sector
At the same time, the Oberes Glantal municipality has decided on a new fee schedule for water supply and wastewater disposal from the 2020 financial year. The recurring contributions are based on the property area and vary depending on the full floor and water consumption. This was approved by the local authority supervisory authority, as confirmed by the official notices on the municipality's website. The new fees include, among other things, that the basic fee for water increases to 51.36 euros and that for wastewater to 69.00 euros, which represents a significant adjustment.
The fees for dirty water and rainwater are also increasing. For example, the fee for dirty water will be reduced from 2.90 euros to 2.22 euros per cubic meter. These measures are intended to ensure fair billing of costs in the region while maintaining the quality of services, as can be seen from the statement from the Verbandsgemeindewerke.
