Strengthening community: new furniture for youth rooms in the Ahr Valley!

In the spring of 2023, the Ahrtal Foundation, together with Ikea Koblenz, called on applications for a facility project for the second time. The aim of this project is to carry out professional furnishing planning and provide high -quality furniture for public spaces. After the successful previous project, which included the establishment of the Friendship House Marienthal, the youth room Bad Neuenahr, the community center Antweiler and the community center Esch were selected.

The youth room in Bad Neuenahr was equipped with a concept that is based on the needs of young people. This includes a modern kitchen, a large sofa corner and additional furniture. The furniture was picked up in August and mostly built up, with the electrical appliances from the Ahrtal donation distribution center.

Details on the selected projects

The parish hall in Antweiler received tables, chairs and cupboards in order to be restored as a central place for meetings and events. In addition, parts of the kitchen and missing furniture were ordered for the youth room in Hönningen. The Saalrägerverein in Esch worked on the renovation of the Escher Saal, which is restored after the flood damage. For this purpose, the building is equipped with shelves, lamps, curtains and furniture, while the Ahrtal Foundation offers support.

Overall, the furniture and furnishings provided have a value of 15,000 euros. In addition, further materials and purchases worth 2,000 euros were provided.
