Optimal driving training: safety and fun on the road!
Driving safety training offers a valuable opportunity to improve driving skills and increase road safety. Krone is currently planning an extensive program for car drivers, which includes thorough training for various driving levels.
Two different training levels have been developed for drivers who want to take their driving technique to a new level.Level 1: Intensive trainingfocuses on hazard and emergency maneuver training. The participants learn how to brake effectively, swerve and perform emergency braking. Water columns are used to simulate obstacles, and training on a randomly controlled slingshot plate is also part of the program. Important content includes stabilizing the vehicle and managing understeer and oversteer when cornering.
TheLevel 2: Dynamics Trainingoffers advanced exercises, including emergency lane changes and swerving at speeds of up to 80 km/h. A handling course allows drivers to practically apply the maneuvers they have learned. In addition, the training of countermeasures for aquaplaning is rounded off in special pools. According to Roland Frisch, the chief instructor of the ÖAMTC driving technique, trained drivers can come to a standstill at 100 km/h after about 35 meters, while untrained drivers need 50 meters or more.
The training approach and benefits
The driving safety training approach is practice-oriented, with theoretical content kept to a minimum. Instructors provide direct feedback after each exercise run. The aim of this training methodology is to promote active driving, which not only increases safety but also increases driving pleasure. Participants often report a steep learning curve and increased confidence in unexpected traffic situations. The realistic training means you are well prepared for emergencies, which leads to faster and calmer reactions.
Another aspect that increases the attractiveness of the training is the upcoming summer promotion “1+1 free” for group training, which runs from June 27th to September 7th, 2025. Those interested can use the promotional code “Summer2025”. It is also possible to rent a (second) car from ÖAMTC Fahrtechnik by prior arrangement.
Costs and target groups of the training
Prices for driving safety training vary depending on the provider, location and scope of the course. A one-day training course costs between 150 and 400 euros. These training courses are particularly recommended for beginner drivers, experienced drivers who want to refresh their skills, as well as those returning to the sport and drivers who often travel in poor weather conditions. The German Road Safety Council reports that over 100,000 participants take part in driving safety training courses in Germany every year, although legal requirements, such as the requirement for truck drivers to take part every five years, also play their role.
Graduates of such training have been proven to have a lower risk of accidents than non-graduates. The training formats in Germany offer, among other things, special courses for young drivers as well as women's training. These diverse offerings help ensure that both novice and experienced drivers can benefit from the important content and exercises included in the training.
At a time when road safety is becoming increasingly important, driving safety training is a sensible investment for anyone who wants to participate in road traffic safely and responsibly. If you are interested in training, you should register as soon as possible to benefit from the current offers.
