A handling course allows drivers to practically apply the maneuvers they have learned. In addition, the training of countermeasures for aquaplaning is rounded off in special pools. According to Roland Frisch, the chief instructor of the ÖAMTC driving technique, trained drivers can come to a standstill at 100 km/h after about 35 meters, while untrained drivers need 50 meters or more.

The training approach and benefits

The driving safety training approach is practice-oriented, with theoretical content kept to a minimum. Instructors provide direct feedback after each exercise run. The aim of this training methodology is to promote active driving, which not only increases safety but also increases driving pleasure.
