Magical book fair Pott Fantasika moves fantasy fans to Gelsenkirchen!
In Gelsenkirchen, fans of the fantasy and science fiction literature are back in a party mood. The second edition of the "Pott Phantasika" Buchmesse takes place on the weekend of October 12th and 13th in Horst Palace. After the great reception in the previous year, the organizers hope for an equally successful event.
The fair attracts 55 exhibitors this year, including various authors from all over Germany. Every day of the event, readings start every hour, in which the writers present exciting extracts from their latest works. In addition to books, many other merchandise articles from the fascinating world of fantasy and science fiction will also be found
admission free and new prices for visitors
An important aspect of the "Pott fantastic" is that the makers, Salvatore Treccarichi, Jana Jeworreck and Karsten Zingsheim, are not on commercial aspects. It also follows that admission is free of charge on both days - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For the first time, two audience prices will be awarded for the first time this year. One price is awarded for the most popular book and the other for the most striking cosplay of trade fair visitors. 250 euros each are made available as a cash prize for the two winners, and the award will take place on Sunday.
The authors who participate are popular names such as Janina Jordan, Lily Konrad, and Markus Heitkamp. A large number of publishers will also be on site to present their current works. This clearly shows that the “Pott Fantasika” is not only a platform for authors, but also for publishers who want to introduce themselves and their products to a broad audience.
The organizers are optimistic about the future. "Thanks to our success last year, all of our authentic ones were fully booked within ten days," reports the trio. In view of the great demand, the next dates for the book fair in 2025 and 2026 have already been determined. This shows that the "Pott Fantasika" becomes a permanent institution for fantasy fans in Germany.
The book fair emphasizes the importance of the exchange and the community among fans and creators of this genre. The fact that a regulars' table for fantasy authors in Bochum served as a starting point illustrates how such initiatives can bring the creative minds together to create a lively and inviting atmosphere.
The anticipation for the fair is noticeable, and it remains to be seen which new ideas and stories the visitors can expect in addition to the extensive range of books and merchandise. Spectators can look forward to interesting encounters, exciting readings and the possibility of interactive discussions while immersing themselves in the fantastic worlds of literature.
