John Bolton, the former US national security advisor, warns urgently about the consequences of a renewed presidency of Donald Trump. In an explosive interview with the television station Phoenix, Bolton makes it clear: “He will take revenge!” Trump is determined to fight both domestic and international opponents. In particular, tariffs on foreign products could soon become a reality, which could have devastating consequences for the US and global economy.
Trump as a potential NATO dropout
Bolton is concerned that Trump could seriously jeopardize US membership in key international institutions such as NATO. “It is a serious threat that Trump might want to leave NATO,” Bolton said, noting that some believe he is simply using threats to get European states to spend more on defense. “The next four years must be bridged,” demands Bolton and appeals to those responsible in the USA to make clear to Trump the risks of leaving NATO.

He also rejects that Trump should be viewed as a fascist: "A fascist needs a political philosophy. Trump doesn't have one; he only sees everything through the prism of what benefits him."
