Robbery series in Würselen: Police catch five young perpetrators!
Aachen/Würselen (ots)
In an unprecedented crime wave, Würselen has suffered a spate of robberies, burglaries and even arson over the past six weeks. The Aachen police reacted quickly and founded an investigation team that is now working at full speed to hunt down the criminals. The stress and discomfort of the citizens is obvious - but the investigators are the masterminds of a shocking series of arrests.
On Saturday, November 9th, the officers struck and arrested four young suspects, all of whom come from the region. This gang could include five suspects, and three of them are now in custody. The searches of their homes not only uncovered stolen goods, but also evidence that made the extent of their crimes abundantly clear. On Wednesday, November 13th, a fifth suspect was caught. The culmination of the investigation is the shocking conclusion that the gang is blamed for violent attacks on innocent citizens, brutal break-ins and even attacks with weapons.
A trail of destruction
Among the traditional crimes, several incidents stand out. On October 4th, two men in Würselen were brutally attacked and robbed by four masked attackers on scooters. In further burglaries in stores on September 28th and October 6th, the perpetrators also fled on scooters. The acts of violence increased rapidly: on November 3rd, a 92-year-old senior citizen was brutally robbed and injured in her home, while another attack on a couple was only prevented by their resistance. A gas station employee was surprised during a robbery on November 5th - an indication of the improvised but deadly dangerous approach of this criminal gang.
The brutal attacks and the carrying of weapons show a disturbing wave of violence. Thanks to the tireless work of the police and the Aachen public prosecutor's office, there is light at the end of the tunnel - a wave of arrests that has resulted in no further crimes of this type being reported since the first arrest on November 9th in Würselen. However, the investigations to investigate further crimes are still in full swing, while the city breathes a sigh of relief but remains worried.
