Ferry strike on Langeoog: Islanders demand return of the workers' ship!
The waves are hitting Langeoog! The residents of the popular North Sea island are outraged by the inadequate ferry service, which severely limits their accessibility. A passionate petition by Petra Moselage and Sven Klette is now mobilizing and calling for more connections, especially in winter, to guarantee better connections. The voices of the islanders are getting louder!
"We have to come to work on the weekend! How are our workers supposed to get to the island late in the evening or early in the morning when the departure times are so inconvenient?" says Julia Goll indignantly. Rosemarie Aukes-Buschwachter also gives vent to her anger: "It is crucial that the island community ensures that workers can get to the mainland and back without any problems at any time. The current restrictions are exacerbating the already tense situation on the labor market!"
An outcry from business owners
The dissatisfaction doesn't stop! Monika Schneider goes even further and criticizes the impact on tourism: "How are guests supposed to come to us if they have to rely on late ferries? The ferry service is the lifeline of our island!" The islanders point out that the cash registers are ringing during the peak season and are calling for a financial reassessment. “You have to keep an eye on the whole year!” says Schneider.
Videos and photos of passionate discussions are already circulating on social media, while online petition signatures are rising rapidly. The pressure on those responsible is increasing: Will the island government finally listen to the residents' demands and improve ferry traffic for Langeoog? The future of the island could depend on it!
