Festive St. Hubertus Mass in Hamelin: Hunters celebrate with the sound of hunting horns!

Hamelin. On Sunday, November 3rd, the St. Bonifatius Minster in Hameln will be the scene of a festive event: The Hameln-Pyrmont hunters' association invites you to St. John's Mass at 7 p.m.! An event that celebrates the patron saint of hunters, St. Hubertus, and is of great importance for all hunters.

The Hubertus Mass promises to be a musical highlight, supported by the impressive hunting horn brass group, which has made a name for itself as national winner in 2023 and world championship participant in 2024. Chairman Thorsten Bund describes the mass as the prayer and “thanksgiving” of hunters who speak to God in harmony with nature and the sound of hunting horns.

Traditional hunting signals

In memory of creation and the fragility of our environment, the hunting horns that emerge from ancient traditions will sound. The mass will be played on a historic par force horn from the 17th century in the “E flat” tuning – a sound that will touch the hearts of the listeners. These valveless hunting horns, which exist in different designs, give the traditional hunting signals a lively voice.

Admission to the fair is free, but the collection will benefit a social cause and community work. In addition to the welcoming speech by Thorsten Bund, the mass will also be celebrated ecumenically by Superintendent Dr. Stephan Vasel and Dean Stephan Uchtmann designed it. An evening that brings the community together and celebrates the deep roots of hunting culture!
