Shocking discovery in the Emsland district! During an inspection at a car recycling site on November 4, 2024, the customs officers from the Osnabrück Financial Control Office for Undeclared Work came across four Tajik workers who were employed illegally. This discovery sheds a harsh light on the dark side of labor migration.
Officials were out in the area to check that all employees were properly registered for social security and that the minimum wage was being met. But what they found exceeded their worst fears: four men were working without a valid residence permit. This unauthorized employment not only cost them their right of residence, but also their freedom - criminal proceedings were initiated for illegal residence!
Drastic measures taken!
A security deposit of 1,200 euros was required for the illegal workers. However, the chunk was only the beginning of their problems: there was even an arrest warrant against one of the men, and after his interrogation he ended up in police custody! On November 5, 2024, he was taken into custody pending deportation as a foreigner required to return home, while the deportation was already underway.
The three other men were confronted with a notice requiring them to leave Germany on time. The investigations by the Financial Control Board into illegal employment are still ongoing, and it remains to be seen what further inconsistencies will come to light. Dark clouds are gathering in the shadow of the law!
