Autumn holidays in MV: 840 euro subsidy for families with low incomes!
In the run-up to the upcoming autumn holidays, the Ministry of Social Affairs of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has published an important note to families and single parents with low incomes. It's about the possibility of applying for financial subsidies for family recreation. “We are providing funds totaling 150,000 euros from the state budget, around two-thirds of which have only been used up for this year,” explained Minister Stefanie Drese (SPD). This could help many families who need support.
The funding amounts to up to 30 euros per person per day and is intended for stays of up to seven nights. This could, for example, enable a family with two adults and two children to receive funding of 840 euros, which would significantly relax the family vacation. This year's fall break runs from October 4th to 21st, which could provide another opportunity to take a nice break.
Important requirements for funding
“With this state grant we want to enable people to spend time together away from everyday life, regardless of their wallet,” emphasized Drese. The grant is intended not only to provide a financial incentive, but also to help strengthen family cohesion. Last year, a total of 320 children and 188 adults took part in these programs, showing that many families were able to benefit from this support.
Family recreation often takes place in beautiful places such as Rügen, Usedom or along the Baltic Sea. Various family holiday resorts as well as independent social sector organizations, including Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO), the German Red Cross (DRK), Caritas and Diakonie, make such stays possible. These facilities not only provide accommodation, but also programs aimed at strengthening family bonds and allowing participants to have a relaxing time.
Given the financial strain that many families are under, this funding opportunity would be a valuable contribution to creating shared experiences while offering the opportunity to relax. In this sense, the existing subsidy is an important measure that not only relieves the burden on the wallet, but can also help families to spend more time together.
For interested families, further information on the application modalities and periods in which the subsidies can be applied for is available directly from the Ministry of Social Affairs of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The sooner the applications are submitted, the higher the chance of benefiting from the current funding.
