Large line-up of literary professionals: The “wortReich” literary days in Schwäbisch Gmünd are celebrating their 10th anniversary with a brilliant program! From November 7th to 24th, the city and the educational institutions are presenting a total of 22 exciting events that no book lover should miss.

Numerous highlights await guests! Mayor Julius Mihm will kick things off with an opening speech in the city library on November 7th at 7 p.m. Immediately afterwards, the talented poet Safiye Can asks those present: “Read poems!” There will be another highlight on November 8th, when the celebrated author Navid Kermani presents his new book “In the Other Direction Now” in the Stadtgarten. The young readers are also not forgotten: on November 15th, the children's play “Hare and Elder Bear” will be performed in the theater workshop.

A program full of surprises

The Literature Days offer something for everyone! Whether it's a poetry slam on November 13th with Johannes Elster, an exciting literary competition, or the reading by Thomas Perle with "Carpathian Spots" on November 12th - it will be a festival of words! For lovers of children's literature, Signe Sellke will present texts from her late colleague's work on November 19th, while Fiston Mwanza Mujila will discuss the serious issues of colonization and globalization.

The variety of events is also highlighted by the experimental reading “This is (the end of?) Kali Yuga!” on November 20th and the gripping production by the Württemberg State Theater in Esslingen about the story of the almost 1000 Jewish passengers on the St. Louis on November 21st. On the last Sunday of the Literature Days, visitors can expect a touching autobiographical reading with Lisa Federle and Bernd Kohlhepp. So get ready for eleven exciting days of literature!
