Art as a dialogue: New Community Art Center opened in Suhl

In Suhl, an exciting new chapter for the art scene began at the weekend. The Community Art Center was opened and is intended to be a place of dialogue and change. The association unofficial.pictures, which has been active since 2020, strives to deal artistically with the concerns of the citizens and to create new perspectives. With numerous events, including exhibitions, theater workshops and even a podcast project, local topics are to be put in the light in order to strengthen the cohesion in the community. Rafael Brix, a documentary photographer and head of the center, describes the center as a place where burning topics can finally be edited.

The opening was accompanied by a colorful program that offered the present not only art but also enjoyment. Visitors were enthusiastic about the artistic offer and the opportunity to have an exchange on topics relevant to them. In 2025, the focus is on the challenges of the initial reception of refugees and the emigration of young people. Interested parties should take notice: from December 11th the center will be open regularly, and the team's artists are looking forward to integrating further votes and perspectives from the region.
