On Tuesday evening at 9:12 p.m. the alarm sounded in Gelsenkirchen! The fire department was called to a terrible basement fire on Bulmker Street in the Bulmke-Hüllen district. When the first emergency services arrived, they were met by thick clouds of smoke billowing from the basement of a two-story residential building. Amid the dangerous situation, three people had to be hospitalized for smoke inhalation. The brave firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, immediately went into the danger zone. They quickly located the fire and extinguished the flames, which had been sparked by debris piled up in the basement. Meanwhile, another team ensured that the stairwell was cleared of toxic smoke. For this critical mission, a fan was used to eliminate the elevated smoke levels!
After almost two hours of intensive fighting against the flames, the operation was successfully completed.
