Hanover is sounding the alarm bells!During extensive exploratory work on the former barracks area of the Freiherr von Fritsch barracks in Bothfeld, devastating remnants of the Second World War were discovered: several grenades! This ancient danger will be neutralized on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Around 100 residents now have to be extremely vigilant and temporarily leave their homes!
The discovery has caused a stir, but authorities say it currently existsno danger to the population. However, to ensure maximum safety during the demolition, a security area was set up which the affected residents must leave by 9:00 a.m. Anyone who has no other place to stay can from this point onwards go to the care center in the municipal tree nursery at Zur Stadtgärtnerei 10, 30657 Hannover.
Evacuation under control
There are options for people with severe disabilities: ambulance transport can be requested by calling 19222. Authorities are warning residents to take everything they need with them - from medication to suitable clothing. Returning to your own four walls?
