Historical postcards: Osnabrück in view of the past

Every Sunday at 1 p.m. sharp, the Osnabrücker Rundschau indulges in nostalgia! With our new series we are publishing a photo from Osnabrück's glorious past in a consistent order. This week we take a look at a lively picture of the Neumarkt on Johannisstrasse in 1913. Here the city is in full bloom as people escape everyday life and head to the friendly Gasthof Josef Hülsmann (No. 58/59).

Unique snapshot! On the right you can see the confluence of the Neuer Graben with the impressive corner building Hotel Bavaria (Johannisstraße 63/64). This place is a real gem of history and begs to be discovered. The beautiful postcard comes from the collection of F.E.D. and shows a scenery that reflects the charm of the city at that time in all its splendor.

Nostalgic nights and historical insights

With the kind permission of the publisher H. Th. Wenner, we are bringing this visual treat directly to your living room. These special images were carefully selected from the image archive of photographic images up to 1945 and are an excellent example of the treasure trove of memories that Osnabrück has to offer. In the coming weeks, readers can look forward to further impressions and stories that will take them into the city's charming alleys and heydays.

Immerse yourself in history, let yourself be captivated by the old views, and enjoy the valuable contemporary witnesses that the Rundschau presents to us in this fascinating series!
