The new office and the fresh challenges were not empty promises, because Büttner's first working day was anything but boring. Here Büttner had the opportunity to make the first contacts and familiarize themselves with the local infrastructure.

As soon as he received his certificate of appointment, another important moment occurred: on the evening of the same day he was called to Schotten for the first time. An apartment building burned there. Büttner was able to convince himself that the rapid action of the fire brigade comrades could prevent worse things. "My first day in the new office was eventful. I got to know a lot of new colleagues and was very well received," he said after the incident.

Marcell Büttner succeeds Dr. Sven Holland and not only brings his technical knowledge, but also his personal enthusiasm for the fire brigade into the new role. He has been active in the volunteer fire brigade of his home community Ebsdorfergrund for over 30 years and has led numerous width training courses and exams at the State Fire Brigade School during this time.
