OFC in the 2nd round of the DFB Cup: Christian Neidhart full of optimism!
An exciting spectacle is about to begin! For the first time in a decade, OFC reached the second round of the DFB Cup. On Tuesday at 6 p.m. we face the in-form Karlsruher SC, a serious opponent who is fighting for promotion in the 2nd Bundesliga. The Offenbacher Kickers can rely on their cup experts - the atmosphere in the sold-out Bieberer Berg stadium is electric!
Christian Neidhart, the OFC coach, can hardly wait for the upcoming duel. “We deserve a game like this on the mountain in front of a sold-out hut,” beams the coach. The KSC, until recently unbeaten in the league, faces an opponent who, like a phoenix from the ashes, recently knocked FC Magdeburg out of the tournament. This brings back memories of the last meeting in 2014, when Offenbach sensationally won 1-0 and fought their way to the round of 16.
Neidhart is optimistic about the encounter
The coach is full of confidence: "I'm always very optimistic in games like this. We're not only happy that we get to play, but we want to win the game." With the experience he has from his time at RW Essen, he is convinced that a regional league team can also go far.
Another trump card in the OFC's deck is striker Valdrin Mustafa, who has already survived the first round of the cup for the third time in a row. After recovering from the flu, he shows himself to be fighting: "We have a great team spirit. Everyone treats each other and everyone gives full throttle," Mustafa praises the team spirit. It seems as if the OFC could really stand up to the KSC!
