A new star in the sky of anesthesiology and intensive care medicine shines at the Eichhof Hospital in Lauterbach! Dr. Martin Grapengeter has taken over the management of the department and succeeds Dr. Norbert Sehn, who will work closely with him until his retirement in April 2025. Dr. Grapengeter, an experienced physician with an impressive career, brings a breath of fresh air and innovative ideas to take the department to the next level.
Since October 1st, Dr. Grapengeter officially at the helm. He previously managed the Bad Hersfeld Clinic and not only brings extensive experience, but also a clear vision. “I actually wanted to cut back, but the responsibility for the team and the patients convinced me to stay here,” explains the 55-year-old. His plans include expanding outpatient surgery and introducing an antibiotic stewardship program to optimize patient care and future-proof the department.
A win for the region
Mathias Rauwolf, board member of the Eichhof Foundation, is enthusiastic about the decision: “In Dr. Grapengeter, we have gained an outstanding specialist who will further expand the department.” Also Dr. Gerhard Schlitt, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, sees Dr. Grapengeter is a key person for the upcoming hospital structural reforms. The new chief physician, a native of the Rhineland and with an impressive international background, is determined to strengthen the region through his expertise and promote young talent in medicine. Discussions with the Hessian State Medical Association are already underway to promote the promotion of young talent.
