A new star in the sky of anesthesiology and intensive care medicine shines at the Eichhof hospital in Lauterbach! Dr. Martin Grapengeter took over the management of the department and succeeds Dr. Norbert Sehn, who will work closely with him until his retirement in April 2025. Dr. Grapenter, an experienced doctor with an impressive career, brings a breath of fresh air and innovative ideas to raise the department to the next level.

Since October 1st, Dr. Grapenter officially at the helm. He previously headed the Bad Hersfeld Clinic and not only brings extensive experience, but also a clear vision. "I actually wanted to step shorter, but the responsibility for the team and the patients convinced me to stay here," explains the 55-year-old. His plans include the expansion of outpatient operations and the introduction of an antibiotic stewardship program to optimize patient care and make the department future -proof.

Mathias Rauwolf, board member of the Eichhof Foundation, is enthusiastic about the decision: "With Dr. Grapengeter we have won an outstanding specialist who will further expand the department." Also Dr. Gerhard Schlitt, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, sees Dr. Grapenter a key person for the upcoming hospital structure reforms. The new chief physician, a native of Rhinelander and with an impressive international background, is determined to strengthen the region through its expertise and to promote young talents in medicine. Talks with the Hessian State Medical Association are already underway to promote young talent.
