Large power outage exercise in Dithmarschen: emergency services in action!

An exciting weekend in Dithmarschen! Around 250 courageous emergency services took part in an impressive power outage exercise in Heide on Saturday. They fought against fictitious traffic chaos and a burning gas pipe. Press spokeswoman Elena Schnittchen praised the exercise, but emphasized that communication between the various units, which came from the federal, state and local levels, could still be improved. “But that’s normal,” says Schnittchen. The different communication channels were a challenge that had to be mastered!

Drama in St. Michaelisdonn

The St. Michaelisdonn fire department was on duty twice at a single-family home over the weekend. On Saturday a fire broke out in the attic and when residents thought everything was under control, there was a loud bang in the night! Another fire, this time explosive, raged again in the roof structure. The cause of the second fire remains a mystery, but fortunately there were no injuries. A truly dramatic weekend for the fire department!

Halunder Jet – More trips from Brunsbüttel!

The catamaran “Halunder Jet” completed its last trip to Heligoland for the year on Sunday, but that’s not the end! Managing director Tim Kunstmann is enthusiastic about the season and announces that from the next high season the “Halunder Jet” will fly four times a week from Brunsbüttel to Cuxhaven and Helgoland. A reason for joy for all day trippers!

On the night of Sunday to Monday, the B5 between Heide-West and Hemme was completely closed after a truck slipped into the ditch. The rescue work lasted from 12:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m., but fortunately everyone remained unharmed. Another exciting chapter in the news from Dithmarschen!
