Dangerous passenger: bus ride ended in cell!

Bad Bentheim (ots)

Shock at the German-Dutch border! There was a dramatic incident at the weekend that really shook up the nightlife on Autobahn 30. On the night of Saturday to Sunday, the federal police caught a 41-year-old Dutchman who dared to enter Germany without permission. The reason? This man was no stranger - he was a deported criminal from 2017 who had been sentenced to a total sentence of four years and two months for his violations of the Narcotics Act!

The accident occurred around 12:45 a.m. when federal police officers were checking an international coach at the Bentheimer Wald rest area. The bus that came from the Netherlands was the last place the man he was looking for would have wanted to be. But the police were alert and quickly realized that the 41-year-old was not just a passenger. After a thorough check of his personal details, the blatant background story became clear: After the sentence had been reduced and part of it had been served, the man was deported to his home country and was then no longer allowed to enter the country. But the despicable attempt to circumvent this regulation ended in a serious turnaround.

Arrest at the last second

The federal police didn't let him escape. Instead, the man was immediately arrested and taken to the correctional facility. An unexpected turn of events that shows how seriously the police take protecting German borders. The 41-year-old wanted to cross the border, but instead he ended up straight behind bars! Another example that crime doesn't pay and the authorities stay vigilant even at night!
